NOW MAGAZINE INVITING READERS TO SPEAK THEIR MINDS

Toronto-based NOW Magazine in launching a new outdoor advertising campaign this week making it the first consumer advertising in the magazine's history. The campaign, running for four weeks on downtown advertising pillars and trackside in subway stations, includes blank posters except for the line "Speak Your Mind. We Do." at the bottom and the NOW masthead at the top. Attached to the frame of the poster is a marker. Passers-by are invited to write on the poster offering what ever is on their mind. The campaign was approved by outdoor advertising company's Urban Outdoor and Pattison following MediaCom's refusal of the posters, fearing it would "invite people to graffiti on other posters as well". The campaign is from Axmith McIntyre Wicht of Toronto.
