RADIO ADMAN TURNED WRITER SETS UP VANITY PRESS
By Adnews Staff
James Norman, a man who makes his living writing radio ads, is introducing his first book to the Canadian market next month. Entitled Echoes, the mystery novel has a radio journalist as its hero. Jack MacNeil finds himself confronting murderers, madness and a dangerous international underworld organization while trying to unravel the secrets of a cave. Norman has set up his own publishing company in Toronto, Nenka Press, to produce the book. He has also created his own radio ad campaign to promote the book when it hits store shelves. He has also set up a web site at which Internet browsers can find a picture of the book's jacket, sample chapters, a short interview with Norman and an entry form for a contest to win a copy of the book. The web address is <http://www.enterprise.ca/~normanj/normanhome.html>. Concrete Design Communications of Toronto designed the cover. James Norman is creative director at 680News Radio in Toronto. He has also been senior promotion supervisor at Maclean's magazine, and has worked at CHFI-FM and CHUM-AM/FM.
