IBM TARGETS CONSUMERS WITH NEW THINKPAD

U.S.-based International Business Machines Corp. is moving its ThinkPad notebook computer into the consumer market. The computer maker will launch the ThinkPad I Series of computers to the worldwide in early November. The machines will feature an ergonomic design, active matrix TFT displays, instant audio feature with external CD player controls and an Internet scroll bar function. In Canada, IBM is still developing its advertising plans for the new line of computers. Canadian advertising for IBM is handled by Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto.
