CANADA GETS PUSH IN JAPAN
By Adnews Staff
Consumers in Japan are getting a taste of Canada. The Canadian Tourism Commission recently launched a campaign in the country to encourage Japanese travelers to visit Canada. The ads feature various Canadian scenes such as Niagara Falls, children playing hockey on a lake, a woman with her husky sled dog and caribou weaving their way through a forest of birch trees. The campaign uses transit, newspaper, magazine and outdoor ads, as well as travel trade publications. The ads are geared to consumers over the age of 45. The campaign was created by Dentsu Young & Rubicam of Tokyo, in conjunction with Vickers & Benson Advertising of Toronto.
