SEARS GETS READY FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL

Toronto-based Sears Canada is reminding teenagers its almost time to go back to school. The retailer has teamed up with Levi Strauss Canada, Jockey, Vik Recordings, The Comedy Network and the music group Love Inc. to launch a back-to-school contest. Under the deal, students aged 13 to 18 can enter the contest by filling out a ballot at a Sears outlet. The grand prize winner will receive five tickets to see Love Inc. perform live on its Canadian tour, transportation by private jet, ground transportation by limousine, dinner, overnight hotel accommodations and five backstage passes. The second prize entitles the winner to a pair of Levi jeans. In addition, every student in the winner's school will receive a pair of Levi jeans. The third prize winner will receive a pair of Jockey underwear, as well as every student in their school. Winners will be announced during the Open Mike show on The Comedy Network in October. The contest will be promoted using a TV ad and flyers. The TV ad will be created by Young & Rubicam of Toronto. Sears flyers will be created in-house.
