MOISHES MOVES INTO RETAIL

Moishes restaurant of Montreal plans to go retail. The restaurant has signed deals to sell some of its restaurant food in grocery stores in Ontario and Quebec. The items to be sold at the retail level will include coleslaw, dill pickles, marinated salmon and pepper, Monte Carlo potatoes and chopped liver with fried onions. In addition, the restaurant recently opened a restaurant in Toronto and hopes to expand into the U.S. in the latter part of 1999. Moishes plans to open the restaurants in the business and financial districts of metropolitan cities. The Toronto outlet features a main floor bar, a cigar lounge, a dining room and two private dining rooms. It is being promoted using print ads and PR handled by Strategic Objectives of Toronto. Moishes currently operates two restaurants in Montreal and Toronto.
