STANDARD LIFE AIMS TO CHANGE ITS ADVERTISING WAYS

Standard Life Assurance is investigating new media such as the Internet for future advertising. The Montreal-based company recently chose Armada Bates, the Montreal office of Bates Canada, as its new agency. The account, with current annual spending of $1.5 million, was previously with Marketel of Montreal. Armada Bates seems to be very technologically advanced and has a broad outlook that sees past traditional media, Standard Life sales communications coordinator Linda Seropian told Adnews yesterday. Recently the company has been doing mainly trade print ads but it is looking at more corporate advertising, said Seropian.
