BIG RESPONSE TO TOURISM PUSH

The Canadian Tourism Commission has received over 60,000 phone calls since its TV campaign began almost a month ago. The three spots promote Canada's cities, historic heritage and the great outdoors. The goal of the campaign is to encourage Canadians to travel domestically. Each ad has a 1-800 number for people to use to order brochures. The commission is hoping that 100,000 people will call the number by the end of the campaign which ends in a few weeks. Newspaper ads promoting the 1-800 number began this month. The campaign was created by Montreal-based BCP.
