PHONE BOOK COMPETITION HEATS UP IN NEWFOUNDLAND
By Adnews Staff
Future Technology Information Services of St. John's, Newfoundland will launch a telephone book next June that will offer users phone listings for every home and business in the entire province, including Labrador. Called the Newfoundland and Labrador Retriever, the book will cover areas Future Technology says the phone company doesn't cover such as Marystown, Corner Brook and Joe Batt's Arm. Future Technology believes it can save consumers money because they won't have to pay 95 cents for information services to get the phone numbers in these areas. In addition, Future Technology says its ads provide more value for their dollar because they are 50% larger than the ads in the provincial phone company's book. The company launched a print campaign this week to promote the phone book to potential advertisers. The campaign was created by Target Marketing & Communications of St. John's.
