CANWEST HIRES NEW PRESIDENT

Atlantis Communications president Kevin Shea is leaving his job to join CanWest Global Communications as president of its Central and Eastern Canadian broadcasting operations. He will oversee the Global Television Network in Ontario, as well as MITV-TV in the Atlantic provinces and a TV station in Quebec City which will be a joint venture with Télé-Métropole of Montreal. Atlantis chairman Michael MacMillan will be handed the extra role of president when Shea leaves in September. Before joining Atlantis 18 months ago, Shea was president of YTV for six years.
