Postmedia Network promotes Fisher

Postmedia Network of Toronto has appointed Gordon Fisher to the position of president and publisher of its Pacific Newspaper Group. The group comprises the print and digital operations of British Columbia newspapers The Vancouver Sun and The Province. Fisher was most recently Postmedia's executive vice-president for eastern Canada and president of the National Post. Prior to joining the Post in 1997, Fisher was president of news and information at Canwest Global Communications. He has also been editor-in-chief, general manager and publisher of the Ottawa Citizen, publisher of the Kingston-Whig Standard and managing editor of The Vancouver Sun.
