Clif, Nature Canada ready joint promotion

Snack food maker Clif Bar & Company, in collaboration with conservation organization Nature Canada, has begun an initiative intended to help consumers gain access to outdoor activities. Clif will donate US$50,000 to expand Nature Canada's NatureHood program. It will also host an event called “Clif Day Camp.” The NatureHood program works to provide youth from marginalized communities with access nearby nature areas. Until Oct. 27, Nature Canada will invite children to draw a picture of a “dream day in nature.” Three children and their families will experience their dream days. An additional six families will experience outdoor activities such as birdwatching, hiking and nature walks. The day camp will be a one-day event intended to help families in the Greater Toronto Area experience the outdoors.

“At Clif, we know someone's first experience in nature can be the spark that ignites a lifelong love of outdoor exploration,” said Hilary Hanley, senior brand strategy lead for Clif in Canada. “We think the Clif Day Camp program can be that start for a select group of families, and hope that our future work with Nature Canada will help more people discover their passion for the natural world.”
