AbbVie, Fighting Blindness Canada release glaucoma app

AbbVie Canada, a Montreal-based pharmaceutical company, has released a new mobile application in association with charitable organization Fighting Blindness Canada. Called “Glaucoma in Perspective,” the application is intended to educate consumers about glaucoma and ways to manage the disease. The release is timed to coincde with World Sight Day. It includes a series of interactive demonstrations to encourage at-risk individuals to seek early treatment by allowing them to experience the impact of glaucoma on everyday situations. The free application is available for Android and Apple devices.

“At AbbVie, we continue to explore new and improved ways of enhancing glaucoma care for patients,” said Tracey Ramsay, general manager of AbbVie Canada. “While there is no cure for glaucoma, we remain dedicated to ensuring that patients have access to available resources like Glaucoma in Perspective to support their health and wellbeing. We will continue to work collaboratively with key partners, such as Fighting Blindness Canada, to address the unmet needs in glaucoma care and help bring innovative solutions that bring meaningful impact for Canadians.”
