Clif Bar sponsors Trans Canada Trail

Snack food maker Clif Bar & Company has signed-on as a sponsor of the Trans Canada Trail, a network of recreational trails that are planned to eventually reach 22,000 kilometers from coast to coast. During the two-year sponsorship, Clif will be the official energy bar of the trail. The company will sponsor up to 150 kilometers of greenway construction as part of the trail network. As part of the agreement, Clif will conduct sampling programs along various sections of the trail this summer. The company will also sponsor interprovincial and trailhead signs with maps and other information for users.

"The inspiration for Clif Bars came to our founder on a 175-mile bike ride," said Kevin Cleary, CEO of Clif Bar & Company. "As a company that knows the power of adventure, it's a special honor to help The Great Trail create spaces for exploration across Canada. When connected, 80% of Canadians will live just 30 minutes from a trailhead. That's a powerful opportunity for connection to the outdoors and to each other."
