RBC introduces new loyalty program

RBC of Toronto has launched a new loyalty program called Avion Rewards. It will replace the bank’s existing RBC Rewards program. According to the company, the new program combines travel and merchandise rewards, as well as loyalty points, along with special offers and cash-back deals. It incorporates a “shopping companion” called ShopPlus that matches users to particpating retailers when they shop online, centralizing their discounts, coupons and special offers. Users will be able to receive or redeem points at approximately 1,900 merchants. The program will roll out nationally through the end of the year.

“Now, more than ever, Canadians are looking for greater savings and convenience in their everyday lives to maximize their time and money,” said Neil McLaughlin, group head of personal and commercial banking at RBC. “With Avion Rewards, we're leveraging our scale and extensive network of retail partners to deliver unmatched value and choice in a meaningful way. We're excited to bring together all the ways that consumers enjoy being rewarded under one convenient program, while embedding innovative shopping and payment features to create a more engaging experience for our members.”
