PetSmart readies Halloween contest

Pet supply retailer PetSmart Canada is preparing a Halloween-themed promotion to promote its new line of seasonal pet apparel, toys and accessories. The promotion will consist of a social media contest which consumers can enter by posting images of their pets in costumes. The “Happy Haunting Costume Contest” will take place on Instagram from Oct. 3 to 26. Three grand prize winners will receive $500 PetSmart gift cards, while nine additional winners will receive $250 gift cards. The contest will be accompanied by in-store promotional activities.
“At PetSmart, we are pet-obsessed when it comes to Halloween and will do anything for our pets to get into the spirit with us,” said Kristin Shane, chief merchandising officer at the company. “Not only are we offering costumes and treats for pet parents to spoil their furry or scaly family members, we're creating unique experiences for the whole pet family to enjoy together throughout the Halloween season.”
