Diageo conducts hologram promotion

Alcohol company Diageo has begun a promotion for its Johnnie Walker whisky brand that makes use of hologram technology from Portl. According to the company, this is the first Canadian campaign to make use of the technology. It was developed in associatioin with Mouse 3D Digital. The interactive installation is located at an LCBO store in downtown Toronto and promotes the brand’s Johnnie Walker 18-Year-Old and Black Label Scotch Whisky as holiday gift ideas. It will run until Jan 3.

“The 4K life-sized holographic display allows brands to create stronger human connections with customers in moments, something we haven’t been able to do yet with digital media,” said Glenn Smith, chief customer officer at Mouse 3D Digital. “The Portl technology offers a pandemic-friendly solution, giving brands the ability to create the look and feeling of a live interaction or demonstration without having to be face-to-face. It offers an immediate consumer connection at a time when we need it most.”
