Keen debuts face mask vending machines

Keen, a footwear company based in Portland, OR, has begun a promotion at Adventure Guide, an outdoor specialty store in Kitchener, ON. The initiative takes the form of a face mask vending machine at that location. The machine sells a variety of “Keen Together” cloth masks made from materials sourced from Keen shoes. The company plans to roll out an additional vending machine in the next couple of months in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as the US, Europe and Japan. The masks can also be purchased online at <http://www.keenfootwear.com>. The promotion also includes social media activities.

“We launched the ‘Wear Masks, Love Others’ campaign in April because wearing masks is one of the simplest and most effective ways to address the pandemic as individuals and a community,” said Erik Burbank, chief brand officer at Keen. “As people continue to venture out, we looked for ways to make high quality, washable and comfortable masks readily available. Vending machines seemed like a convenient option to our fans, in a safe environment. We’re excited to see this go from concept to reality.”
