Hershey signs NBA sponsorship

Candy company Hershey Canada has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the National Basketball League to become the official chocolate of the league in Canada. As part of the sponsorship, Hershey will launch a three-year community initiative called “Sweeter Together” in collaboration with the NBA and charitable organization BGC Canada. The effort is intended to encourage participation in basketball among young athletes by supporting the creation of new basketball infrastructure to improve access to the game. In addition, Hershey will donate a minimum of $300,000 this year to support basketball in Canada through a retail program called “Buy a Bar, Build a Court.” The promotion will include the Hershey’s, Reese’s and Oh Henry brands. It will be supported with social media content and a website at <>.

“Hershey Canada is excited to partner with the NBA and BGC Canada to create more moments of goodness by investing in grassroot basketball initiatives across the country to help make this sport as easy and fun to play as our bars are to eat,” said Sam Chehabeddine, general manager of Hershey Canada.
