CivicAction begins Under the Influence campaign

Toronto-based not-for-profit organization the CivicAction Leadership Foundation has begun a social media campaign called “Under the Influence” intended to raise awareness of the issue of sex trafficking in Canada. The start of the campaign is timed to coincide with National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. The effort, aimed primarily at young women, features actor and social media personality Keara Graves. Graves will use her Instagram presence to highlight how sex traffickers target, lure, and groom victims online. The campaign is being conducted in association with Scotiabank.

“CivicAction brings together the right people to catalyze action,” said Leslie Woo, CEO of CivicAction. “As we all work together to rebuild an equitable economy, we must ensure that everyone in our community is protected and safe. We cannot build an inclusive future if vulnerable people in our society are financially exploited. This campaign aims to empower young people with the information they need to ensure they are safe.”
