Toys R Us selects new chief play officer

Toronto-based toy retail chain Toys R Us has appointed Méganne Dagenais to the position of chief play officer. The 11-year-old won the job in a contest promotion by submitting a video depicting her love of toys. For  the next three years, Dagenais will act as a spokesperson for the brand and will participate in the testing and promotion of new toys.

“We saw a sparkle in Méganne the moment we watched her audition video,” said Melanie Teed-Murch, president of Toys R Us Canada. “She demonstrated a clear passion for play, contagious enthusiasm, and when we met her in person, she impressed us with her ability to hold a conversation with the adults in the room.”
