American Express continues Shop Small campaign

Credit card company American Express has resumed a campaign called "Shop Small" that encourages consumers to patronize local small businesses. The campaign invites consumers in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary to shop at small business in various categories. Consumers who spend five dollars at a participating merchant will receive a five dollar credit on their American Express statement. This offer is being communicated with email messages, online banner ads, in-application notifications, social media content and influencer activities. The campaign will run until Nov. 30.

"At American Express, we've been focused on growing acceptance in the small business segment and, with the help of programs like 'Shop Small,' we're seeing very strong results," said Kerri-Ann Santaguida, general manager of global merchant and network services at American Express Canada. "We're excited for this year's campaign to bring cardmembers and small businesses together as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting small business."
