Quaker begins Joy of Warmth promotion
By Adnews Staff
Oatmeal brand Quaker Oats has begun a winter promotion called "Joy Of Warmth" intended to provide children in need with winter coats. Quaker is conducting the initiative in association with Toronto-based charitable organizations Brands for Canada and Boys and Girls Clubs. In addition, during November Quaker will donate one serving of oatmeal to Boys and Girls Clubs nationally each time a campaign hashtag is posted via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. The effort also includes an online video and a website at <http://www.quakeroats.ca/joyofwarmth>. Quaker is a subsidiary of PepsiCo.
"According to a recent study by the Angus Reid Institute, for one in five Canadian families, proper winter clothing has been a luxury they can't afford," said Susan Irving, senior director of marketing at PepsiCo Food. "It's for reasons like this that we're proud to build on our heritage of warming Canadians, by donating coats to those in-need so they can feel the joy of warmth."
