New Balance signs deal with Francois Hamelin

Athletic apparel company New Balance Canada has signed a promotional agreement with speed skater and long distance runner Francois Hamelin. The athlete will participate in various promotional activities intended to encourage running. His first effort took place in Montreal earlier this month to coincide with Global Running Day.
"We'd like to formally welcome Francois to the New Balance family as our newest running ambassador," said Jon Purdy, senior marketing manager at New Balance Canada. "Our brand has deep roots within the running community. Our collective team of elite athletes and grassroots running ambassadors is a critical touchstone to ensuring we are always supporting runners across Canada."
