Accessible Media releases new mobile apps

Toronto-based Accessible Media has released two new mobile applications aimed at blind and partially sighted consumers. The applications, for Apple and TVOS devices, were developed by The Working Group of Toronto. They provide closed captioning of AMI content, accessibility enhancements such as bolded text, a high contrast layout and integrated described video. The free software is available in English or French.

"Accessibility is at the forefront of everything we do here at AMI," said Peter Burke, vice-president of marketing and communications at Accessible Media. "We knew that accessibility had to be considered from inception and the team at TWG was committed to ensuring that the apps underwent vigorous testing with our target audience."
