Vancouver Airport Authority, Destination Canada form agreement

The Vancouver Airport Authority and tourism organization Destination Canada have signed a memorandum of understanding intended to improve the relationship between the two bodies and to align their respective priorities of air service development and tourism. The two organizations will collaborate on efforts to increase tourism and maximize the impact of their resources. The agreement includes the sharing of knowledge, expertise and market information, as well as joint marketing programs in countries of mutual interest, particularly China.
"We are very excited about this agreement with Destination Canada which allows us to strategically align our priorities in target markets to benefit not only YVR but also our airline partners," said Craig Richmond, president and CEO of the Vancouver Airport Authority. "This is the first agreement of its kind in Canada and complements our Team YVR concept perfectly. Being able to approach airlines with our tourism partners provides them with the necessary support to launch new services, allowing us to continue building YVR as a world-class hub while supporting the economies of British Columbia and Canada."
