Canadian Tire begins Red Door promotion

Canadian Tire has begun a holiday-themed promotion called "Red Door." The initiative makes use of installations at participating stores nationally at which children can chat remotely with Santa Claus at his workshop. The effort will run until Dec. 17 at Canadian Tire stores in Halifax, Quebec City, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver. The company will also operate a temporary retail location in Toronto from Nov. 24 to 26 at which promotional workers dressed as elves will conduct chats with Santa and view his workshop. The promotion is in support of various toy lines including Lego, Paw Patrol, Nerf, Star Wars, Barbie and Shopkins. These locations will also offer "Santa Beacons" which will ostensibly act as guides for Santa Claus to find consumers' houses. The effort was developed by Weber Shadwick Canada with technical support from Wonder Makr.
