Stingray signs promotional agreement with Via
Via Rail Canada of Montreal has signed an agreement with music streaming service Stingray to provide its services to the railway's customers. Passengers on Via's Quebec City-to-Windsor route will be offered a selection of 50 music channels featuring Canadian content via the Stingray Music mobile application via a six-month free trial of the service. The music will be streamed over the Wi-Fi service offered on Via trains. Stingray will also install digital signage in a number of railway stations that will provide passengers with travel information. This is the first time Via Rail has formed an agreement with a music provider.
"Canada is our largest market and, as Via Rail's first music partner and the only music streaming service dedicated to the promotion of Canadian talent, we are delighted with this partnership that allows us to bring our curated channels to Via Rail passengers," said Mathieu Péloquin, senior vice-president of marketing and communications at Stingray. "We have been given an exciting opportunity to showcase Canadian talent to local and international travelers. Our service will provide the ideal soundtrack as passengers sit back and admire our country's beautiful scenery."
