Jamieson, Canadian Cancer Society begin joint promotion

Vitamin company Jamieson Laboratories has formed a two-year agreement with the Canadian Cancer Society intended to educate consumers about the skin cancer risk associated with exposure to ultraviolet light, as well as the health benefits of vitamin D. As part of the promotion, a special co-branded logo will be displayed on Jamieson bottles of vitamin D supplements. The public awareness campaign will also feature additional elements that have not yet been announced.

"Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in Canada but it is also the most preventable," said Robert Nuttall, assistant director of health policy at the Canadian Cancer Society. "In Canada nobody is safe from UV rays, so it was a natural fit to align with Jamieson to help educate Canadians about protecting your skin by checking the UV index daily, covering up, wearing sunscreen and using safer sources of vitamin D."
