CBC launches Short Docs website

CBC/Radio-Canada has begun a new online initiative called CBC Docs: Short Docs. Located at <>, it marks the first extension of the CBC Docs brand into the digital space. The site will specialize in short-form digital documentaries by emerging filmmakers. The content will be 30-minutes or less in length and will be presented as candidates for social media sharing. The site also includes a blog offering extra footage from the films and original content related to their subject matter.

"We're incredibly proud to offer up-and-coming Canadian doc filmmakers a new platform through which to share their work with a national audience," said Jennifer Dettman, executive director of unscripted content at CBC. "Creating original content for the digital space allows us to showcase shorter, shareable doc content on a whole range of subjects and to take some creative risks."
