Award: IABC Toronto communicator of the year

The Toronto chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators has selected Stefan Sjöstrand, president of Ikea Canada, as its 2015 communicator of the year. The annual award recognizes excellence in communications by a professional in the Greater Toronto Area. The judging panel cited Sjöstrand's weekly blog and video updates for employees, his communications with politicians on Ikea's sustainability initiatives, and the company's release of financial results to the public.
"I am honoured to receive this award," said Sjöstrand. "Communications is a key component of success for any business, which is why I'm committed to embracing a culture of open and transparent communication with Ikea's co-workers, customers, stakeholders and media."
