GoDaddy hires TBWA Chiat Day
Internet domain registrar and web hosting company GoDaddy, based in Scottsdale, AZ, has retained TBWA Chiat Day of New York as its global marketing agency of record. This is the first time the company has hired an agency to fill this role. TBWA won the account in a review process that included agency staff from Canada, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States. The agency will support GoDaddy's international expansion efforts and its shift to a "more personalized marketing experience" aimed primarily at small business owners. Its first work will be an international campaign adapted for specific markets that will begin in early 2016. GoDaddy will also continue to use its in-house creative and content agency.
"Each of the agencies we reviewed have a record of creating exceptional marketing programs," said Phil Bienert, chief marketing officer at GoDaddy. "TBWA also brings experience with admired technology brands, a depth of knowledge in our key international regions and the massive power of the Omincom network."
