NINTENDO INTRODUCES NEW GAME

Japan-based Nintendo Co. added a new video game in North America this week for its Nintendo 64 game system. Called Wave Race 64, players race jet skis on a variety of ocean courses. Competitors can choose a straight race with three levels of difficulty, or opt for time trials or a stunt course. In Canada, national TV advertising and a Quebec French-language print campaign to promote the game will begin later this month. It will be created by Leo Burnett Company of Chicago. The agency's Toronto office will handle the Canadian media buy. Other Nintendo 64 games are Super Mario 64 and Pilot Wings 64. Upcoming games launching later this month include Cruisn' USA, Mortal Kombat Trilogy Killer Instinct Gold, Wayne Gretzky Hockey and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. The Nintendo 64 game system was introduced in Canada in September.
