Honda sponsors Rugby Canada

Honda Canada has signed-on as a sponsor of Rugby Canada. Honda Canada will become the presenting sponsor of a new national community sport development program called "Rookie Rugby." This takes the form of a non-contact version of the sport aimed at children between the ages of six and 15. As part of its sponsorship, Honda will provide schools, communities and recreation leagues nationally will the resources to offer the sport.
"At Honda, we are committed to supporting youth initiatives across Canada and this is a natural partnership for our two brands," said Dave Gardner, senior vice-president of operations at Honda Canada. "For example, at Honda, we run a program called Junior Red Riders that teaches six- to 12-year-old children how to properly ride an off road motorcycle in a safe and fun environment. Initiatives like Rookie Rugby and Junior Red Riders share a common goal, which is to encourage children to participate in new activities by providing a fun, safe and enjoyable experience, facilitating a healthy, active lifestyle."
