GTAA, St. Joseph ready new airport magazine

The Greater Toronto Airport Authority and St. Joseph Communications are preparing to launch a new quarterly travel magazine aimed at passengers departing Toronto Pearson International Airport. The magazine, called Away, will debut in December and will be distributed free via racks in the departure lounges and gates in Terminals One and Three. Its circulation will be 200,000 per issue. The print edition will be accompanied by a tablet edition in English and French. The editorial content will include features about the shopping, food and beverage outlets at the terminals, as well as behind-the-scenes stories about the airport and various destinations.

"We see Away magazine as valuable offering to Toronto Pearson's expected 39 million annual passengers," said Scott Collier, vice-president of customer and terminal services at the GTAA. "We're looking forward to an opportunity to connect our passengers with the products, destinations and stories that will enhance their travel experience."

The magazine will be headed by Douglas Kelly and Deborah Trepanier of St. Joseph as co-business leads. Advertising sales will be managed by Gayle Matthews.
