Montreal Gazette introduces new design

Postmedia Network has introduced a redesigned version of the Montreal Gazette, encompassing its print, web, tablet and smartphone editions. This is the second Postmedia property to undergo a redesign according to a pattern that will eventually be applied to all of its publications. The first was the Ottawa Citizen, reintroduced in May.

The new design is intended to present information in different ways to readers of its various versions. The print edition features a new visual style and will have a focus on local content and context. The Montrealgazette.com website is intended to be more responsive and conducive to social media sharing. The smartphone version of the site is intended to provide frequently-updated brief content. The tablet edition will focus on touch-oriented multimedia content.

"'Postmedia Reimagined' is a game changing strategy, attracting the attention of the media world," said Wayne Parrish, chief operating officer of Postmedia. "It represents two and a half years of investment, the direct efforts of hundreds of employees across the country and the indirect efforts of thousands. We are incredibly excited to offer a more relevant, meaningful and engaging experience to readers, and to offer advertisers the unique ability to target their customers across four distinct, complementary platforms."
