GROCERY ORGANIZATION CHANGES NAME
By Adnews Staff
The Grocery Products Manufacturers of Ontario changed its name to the Food and Consumer Products Manufacturers of Canada earlier this month. Newly-appointed FCPMC co-chair Marilyn Knox says in a release that the change better describes the variety of products manufactured and marketed by the group's member companies. The FCPMC is a national association of 180 companies involved in the manufacturing and marketing of branded packaged goods sold through retail, grocery, drug, convenience, mass merchandise and food service distribution channels. Separately, the FCPMC will reveal the results of its 11th annual Consumerline Canada survey in Toronto on Oct. 22. The survey examines Canadian grocery shopping trends, perceptions and behaviors. A seminar program will also be held, featuring consumer experts discussing the issues and communication challenges facing the grocery industry.
