USERS RATE CLARIS SOFTWARE MORE RELIABLE

California-based Claris Corp. says an independent survey shows small business owners rate Claris' database and productivity software as more reliable, easier to learn and more value for the money than comparable Microsoft Corp. products. Dataquest of San Jose, an independent research company that deals with the computer industry, conducted the survey. Users of the software were asked to rate Claris Filemaker Pro database software, ClarisWorks integrated software, Microsoft Access database and Microsoft Office on a scale of one to five (one being not at all satisfied and five being extremely satisfied) in several categories. The study included both Windows and Macintosh users and was completed in the summer of 1996. Microsoft Canada officials were unavailable to comment on the survey.
