New president at Sportsnet

Roger Media of Toronto has appointed Scott Moore to the position of president of Sportsnet and NHL. Rogers signed a 12-year national broadcast and multimedia deal with the National Hockey League in November 2013. Moore will lead the two portfolios. Moore was previously president of broadcast at Rogers Media. Prior to joining Rogers in 2010, he was executive director of CBC Sports and general manager of the media sales and marketing department at CBC. He was also vice-president of CTV Sportsnet.

Rogers Media has also appointed Bart Yabsley to the position of senior vice-president of NHL and video distribution. He will be responsible for non-advertising and sponsorship revenue for NHL content, including product development, NHL-related partnerships and the distribution of NHL content to video providers. He will begin work on Jan. 27. Yabsley has spent the last 12 years at Bell Media, where he was most recently executive vice-president of content sales and distribution. Prior to that, he was executive vice-president of business planning and distribution, and executive vice-president of CTV Specialty Television.

In addition, Rogers Media has promoted John Intini to editor-in-chief of Sportsnet magazine. He was most recently an editor and a deputy editor at the publication. Intini joined Rogers Publishing in 2000 and spent 11 years at Maclean's, ending as senior editor.
