Call for entries: Canada's Next Top Ad Exec

The DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON has issued a call for entries into its annual "Canada's Next Top Ad Exec" competition for 2014. The competition, which is open to Canadian students in business programs, will this year involve the development of a marketing communications strategy for Chevrolet Canada. Specifically, entrants will develop a launch campaign for the 2014 Corvette Stingray. Teams of students can register at <http://www.topadexec.com> until Jan. 27.

Prizes will include a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro for each member of the winning team, two $2,500 scholarships, two $1,000 scholarships and internships at Chevrolet Canada, PepsiCo, Canadian Tire, McDonald's and Yconic.

"Top Ad Exec bridges the gap between the academic world and the marketing and advertising industry," said Mandeep Malik, a professor at McMaster and faculty advisor to the competition. "Students learn to apply classroom theories to solve a real-world problem, and are allowed an opportunity to direct their own learning experiences."

The competition is being sponsored by Chevrolet Canada, MacLaren McCann, Weber Shandwick, PepsiCo, Canadian Tire and McDonald's.
