Chevrolet begins Good Deeds Cup
By Rob Bale
Automaker Chevrolet Canada has resumed an initiative called the “Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup” for a ninth year. The promotion takes the form of a contest for Canadian minor hockey teams to encourage them to support their local communities. Three teams will win donations to a charity of their choice, including a grand prize of $100,000 and secondary prizes of $20,000 and $10,000. Eligible teams and individuals can enter the contest at <http://www.chevroletgooddeedscup.ca> until March 6. The site will also provide a live leaderboard of the teams who have performed the largest number of good deeds, as well as an overall total. The first 50 teams to enter will receive a $250 pizza party.
“Over the last eight seasons, we have seen a real desire from minor hockey players to support their communities, and because of this we are proud to expand our prizing tiers as a way to celebrate and encourage these incredible teams,” said James Hodge, brand director at Chevrolet Canada. “Every year we are blown away by the impactful acts of kindness and community support that we see through the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup, and we can't wait to see this year's submissions.”
