FUTURE SHOP ORDERED OUT
By Adnews Staff
Future Shop employees must stay out of A&B Sound's stores for the next 18 months, says a Vancouver judge. A&B took Future Shop to court after it discovered the electronics chain had sent employees to A&B stores posing as customers. Future Shop employees would ask questions about merchandise to learn sales techniques and gather information on how A&B does business. A&B felt the people were disruptive and bothered the employees. Future Shop says the employees gathered information in a quiet and non-intrusive fashion. The 18-month period is a temporary injunction. Both sides expect the issue to go to trial.
