Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services breaks flu campaign

The Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services has begun an advertising campaign encouraging residents of the province to get vaccinated against the flu. The campaign was developed by KBS+ of Montreal. This is the second year the agency has handled this assignment. The effort includes a 30-second animated television commercial featuring a small green monster representing the flu, who sneaks around demonstrating that the flu can get anywhere. A 10-second banner ad using the same creative theme will also run during television programming. In addition, branded boxes of facial tissue displaying the character will be sold at IGA, Jean Coutu, Wal-Mart and Proxim stores in the province.

"We created a relevant communication tool for this public awareness campaign, that being a box of tissues," said agency president Annie Aubert. "Developed in collaboration with Cascades, these special tissue boxes were designed to get noticed at the point-of-sale as well as inside Quebec homes, for the duration of the campaign and beyond."
