Johnson joins Republic as chairman

Republic of Toronto has appointed Terry Johnson to the position of chairman. Johnson was the founder and CEO of Allard Johnson, now KBS+. He was also co-founder and chair of Veritas Communications, chair and partner at Integrated Healthcare Communications and a partner at OnBrand. He has been officially retired since 2013. Johnson has previously worked with Republic founder and CEO Beverley Hammond when she became CEO of Veritas in 2001.

"I'm really excited to be back in the agency world helping to build a company that is on the cusp of the changes happening in the industry today," said Johnson. "Looking around at the commoditization of the advertising business, it is clear to me clients are looking for more than media. They need strong holistic thinking and the ability to deliver programs across any and all channels. No matter where they are. The potential for Republic, as one of the few agencies fashioned after that new model, is tremendous."
