CIBC introduces new Aventura travel rewards program

CIBC of Toronto has launched a new version of travel rewards credit card program called Aventura. The program allows consumers to receive loyalty points for making purchases that can be redeemed for travel on any airline. Its main features include points for all purchases, the booking of travel without cash and no blackout periods or seating restrictions. The service also offers insurance for trip cancellation, interruption and travel medical treatment.

"Our new CIBC Aventura lineup was developed based on extensive research with Canadians on what they want in a travel rewards program," said David Williamson, senior executive vice-president and group head of retail and business banking at CIBC. "Canadians told us they want to earn points quickly, with the flexibility to use these points to fly where they want, when they want, and even cover the taxes and fees for their flight. We're excited to be delivering on their needs by adding our enhanced Aventura Travel Rewards Program to our credit card lineup."

The new program is being promoted with a national marketing campaign using the tagline, "So good even penguins can fly." It will make use of print and broadcast advertising, as well as social media activities and contest components.
