Consolidated Credit Counseling conducts Frightfully Frugal contest

Toronto-based Consolidated Credit Counseling Services of Canada has begun a Halloween-themed contest promotion called "Frightfully Frugal." Consumers can enter the contest by submitting via the company's Facebook page a photograph of themselves wearing a homemade Halloween costume assembled for a total cost of less than $25. Public voting will determine three winners, who will receive Visa gift cards. The contest will run until Oct. 31.
"Halloween has quickly become one of the largest shopping seasons of the year, with individuals spending upwards of $60 just on their costumes," said Jeffrey Schwartz, executive director of the organization. "This year, we want to show Canadian consumers how easy it is to create a spooktacular costume on a budget. We're hoping Canadians really send a shiver down our spines with their frugal creativity and resourcefulness."
Consolidated Credit Counseling Services is a national non-profit organization that provides consumers with information about personal finance.
