Ottawa Convention Centre hires Wakeham & Associates

The Ottawa Convention Centre has retained Wakeham & Associates Marketing of Toronto to represent the sale of its naming rights. "We selected Wakeham & Associates Marketing through an RFP process, and designated them as our sponsorship sales agency because of their impressive track record in securing naming rights partnerships across Canada and the US," said Paul Keogh, senior vice-president of the Ottawa Convention Centre Corporation. "We are happy to have them on our team as we move forward with this strategic naming rights initiative."

The naming rights sponsor will receive exposure in advertising and other marketing materials, as well as on venue signage and the facility's website. The agreement will also include hospitality options, product display, public relations support and other elements. "The Ottawa Convention Centre is a magnificent building in a spectacular location in close proximity to Parliament Hill," said agency president Hugh Wakeham. "The marketing assets that will be offered to the naming rights sponsor are significant, and the opportunities for activating the sponsorship will create a strong business case for a naming rights partner."

The Ottawa Convention Centre is an agency of the Government of Ontario. In 2012 it hosted approximately 600,000 attendees at events including federal political party conventions, the Ottawa Gatineau International Auto Show, the NHL All-Star Fan Fair and the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival.
