LIPTON PROMOTES REVAMPED HERBAL TEA LINE

Thomas J. Lipton of Canada launched a sampling and PR campaign earlier this month for its revamped line of herbal teas. There are two new flavors in the line: Cranberry Refresher and Peppermint. The tea bags have new inner liners to retain the aroma and flavor, and pillow tea bags have replaced the string and tag format. There is also an Herb Tea Assortment Pack featuring four different flavors. The new packaging emphasizes the emotional nature of the brand with slice-of-life stories and illustrations on the packaging panels. Sampling was done by Nichemark of Toronto. NATIONAL Public Relations of Toronto is handling PR. Direct mail began in June. It is being done by Otis Sauter Partners of Toronto.
