KODAK INTRODUCES SCANNER FOR HOME MARKET
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Eastman Kodak will introduce a color photo scanner next month that lets users re-use their pictures on home PCs. Called the Kodak Snapshot Photo Scanner 1, the machine can scan and display a picture, from magazine thickness to baseball card thickness, in less than 30 seconds. The scanner lets users play with pictures, for example, transforming people into monsters. Then they can share the pictures on-line or on paper, save the image for use in other applications, save the effect to apply to another image, or create a movie for use in multimedia presentations, output to videotape or to play as a screen saver. The Photoenhancer software allows users to make items such as greeting cards, invitations, flyers and calendars. In Canada, national print advertising will support the launch of the scanner. It will be created by Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto.
