Tag Idea Revolution buys The Adlib Group

Toronto-based marketing communication agency Tag Idea Revolution has acquired The Adlib Group, also based in Toronto. Adlib specializes in franchise and dealer-based clients, as well as the food and beverage, hospitality, manufacturing and insurance sectors. Its clients include Mary Brown's Famous Chicken, Master Mechanic, Supperworks, ScotiaLife Financial and Kinedyne. The agency will retain its name and continue to operate as an independent entity. Patti Laine has been appointed president of Adlib. She has previously held the position of vice-president at Taxi, MacLaren McCann and Rain43. Adlib co-founder Toni Abramson will remain on staff in a business development role and to assist in the transition. Co-founder Michael Abramson will also remain with the firm until April 2013. "Over the course of our search in finding the right agency to acquire Adlib, Toni and I took great care in selecting Patti Laine and Tag to take the reins as we step aside," said Abramson. "We know through Patti's leadership and the inherent synergistic qualities between the agencies, Adlib's creative culture and excellent client service will not only continue, but flourish." No financial details are available.
